We also won't pretend every broken door is worth fixing. Most houses in this part of town went up between 1973 and 2013, with the bulk from the 2000s, so the hardware we see is newer steel-track and sectional doors, not the wood tilt-ups from an older era. On a door that age, a cracked panel or a worn spring is usually a straightforward repair.
But if the track is bent past true or the opener is a discontinued model with no parts left to source, replacement is the honest answer, even though it's a bigger ticket than a repair call. We'd rather say that on the phone than after we've already opened the truck.
